Whirlpool Electric Dryer Not Heating, How To Determine What Could Be The Problem

!: Whirlpool Electric Dryer Not Heating, How To Determine What Could Be The Problem

Let start by saying that repairing your Whirlpool electric dryer when is not heating, is not a hard a job to do, if you know what to look for.

The heating circuit of the Whirlpool electric dryer consist of the following parts. The timer, the heating element, the hi-limit thermostat, the safety thermostat, the operating thermostat, the temperature switch and the motor centrifugal switch.

If any of these parts fail, the dryer will not heat. Now, most people when the dryer stops heating, replace the heating element or the timer with out checking to make sure that those parts are bad. Rule number one is, don't assume that the part is bad with out checking it with a multimeter.

The first and most important thing you need to do, is to disconnect the dryer from the wall outlet before doing any kind of work on it. Most parts will need to be checked for continuity and the dryer must be disconnected from the wall outlet.

Most of the times the part causing the problem is behind the dryer and you can gain access by removing the back panel.

Remove the back panel on the dryer. Disconnect one of the heating element wires and take a reading between the two terminals on the heating element. The reading should be between 10 and 50 ohms. If the heating element is good, check the hi-limit thermostat by removing one of the wires and checking for continuity. Continuity means, that electricity could pass through the part that you are checking.

The hi-limit usually blows when there is an obstruction on the exhaust hose, so make sure that the exhaust hose is not obstructed when replacing the hi-limit kit.

If the hi-limit thermostat and the heating element are ok, check the operating thermostat. The operating thermostat is in charge of maintaining the temperature inside of the drum at about 150 degrees. You will need to check from the two terminals with the red wires attached on it.

Those where the parts that fail more often in the Whirlpool electric dryer. The timer, the motor centrifugal switch, the temperature switch are a little harder to check because there are may different one. You will need to use your wiring schematic to see how to check them.

Whirlpool Dryer Parts

!: Whirlpool Dryer Parts

Hello friend I see you must be finding for Whirlpool Dryer Parts. Well maybe this article you are now reading could help you? The first thing you must have to know is what exactly is the qoute of your appliance machine. Is it not heating, tumbling or taking to long to dry. There is many separate parts that could be bad or in need of repair.

Now before you is a list of separate kind of dryer parts and the process of how they work or what qoute they could cost your dryer from working in good condition.

Dryer Timer Parts: They have many separate part numbers for exact dryer models. The dryer timer is exactly what the name says it calls for your electricity to run the rest of the dryer in heat or time measurements.

Dryer Start Switch Parts: There is a few separate kind but are mostly tasteless on all dryer models. Start switch parts allow you to push the switch and open a bi-metal mechanism and free the electricity into the dryer parts to allow it to run. The switch sometimes gets stuck in the open position or gets stuck in the done position.

Dryer belt Parts: There is only three separate belts in this brand of dryers. The most tasteless one to replace most is belt whole 341241. The belt allows the drum to spin by getting the horse power from the motor and puts tension on the Idler Pulley. Commonly is torn, ripped, busted or weathered.

Dryer Motor Parts: There is only two separate kinds of motors one is a front mount which means the blower is facing the front, and the other motor is the rear mount which means the blower wheel is facing the back. These motors spins the drum, tumbling your clothes at a variable rate of speed. It is tasteless for these motors to get hung up or go bad on the start/run winding.

Dryer Blower Wheel Parts: There is only two part numbers for these blower wheel parts to match the dryer motor. The blower wheel spins at the rate of the motor circulating the air to evenly dry your clothes. It is tasteless for these to chip and break from debris in left in pockets of clothes, or get stripped on the motor shaft.

Dryer Idler Assembly Parts: Two types of idler pulleys but whether or can be put on and still work. The idler puts tension on the belt allowing the belt to turn the drum. The idler is tasteless to get burnt by the belt wear or hung up. Also the idler can be going bad and make alot of chirping noise due to poor maintenance.

Dryer Roller Assembly Parts. Rollers come in two separate types and must match up the part number. The rollers have a size difference and makes the drum sit differently. Dryer rollers make the drum move easier and supply preserve for easy tumbling. The rollers Commonly go bad by rounding out the bearing in the middle of the roller parts.

Dryer Thermostats, protection switch Parts: There is many separate temperatures and air flow ratios to match the thermostats and protection switches. The thermostats regulate the heat and cycle the heat temperatures. The safety's Monitor and operate if the dryer is getting too hot or not sufficient air flow and will shut down the dryer down in till replaced. When they shut the dryer down there is an additional one qoute else where that have to be diagnosed and repaired or you will feel the qoute again.

That would end up the mechanical and electrical parts and there functionality and how they break down or have a malfunction. This article excludes the heating sources so we have made an additional one article about Whirlpool Dryer Heating Sources. What we mean is there is two separate types as in I.E gas dryers or galvanic dryers.
